CONCERT SEASON 2008/9
The Hertford Symphony Orchestra’s 2008-2009
season is an exciting mix of classical programmes and popular shows.
Amongst this year’s offerings are two well known and well
loved solo works, several larger-scale works such as Dvorak’s
romantic Symphony No. 7 and Bartok’s Concerto for Orchestra,
and some lesser known works deserving of greater attention, like
the cheeky Stravinsky pieces in the Summer concert. In amongst these
programmes, we will be continuing our
popular Christmas concert with the Hertford Choral Society and our
two family shows, the Robert Kiln Trust Concert For Children and
the Family Concert. The HSO is a friendly orchestra with high standards
that prides itself on its wide repertoire and family-friendly concerts.
We are keen to hear from amateur and professional musicians alike,
who would like to take part. Our open rehearsal will be on Tuesday
16th September 2008. We would also welcome players interested in
taking part in a workshop, to be held in early June 2009, to study
Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring. If you are interested in joining
us please contact us via the join
hso page.
